In this episode Chef Deireé helps the kids make lunch. They cook soup from scratch - including dumplings. Before assembling Egg Salad the kids learn how to make homemade mayonnaise. Finally, they bake bread to go along with their lunch.

Episode 6 – Italian Dinner: Ravioli, Sauce & Meat Balls

Four lucky kids help cook an Italian dinner. They make dough and create their own ravioli. Then, they create tomato sauce from fresh tomatoes and add just the right seasonings for their meatballs. Last, they help put together a Caesar Salad with a little help from the Chef.

About the Chef
Desireé Dorwart spent much of her youth at her parent’s restaurant. She has a BA in Psychology and attended the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont. Since 2001 she has been an instructor of the culinary arts at The Art Institutes International Minnesota in Minneapolis. Desireé and her husband, Philip, who is also a chef, own Create, a catering company. They also have an organic farm where they plan to start a Community Supported Agriculture program with an emphasis on education.
